Cumberland River Trout Fishing Tips
I’m one inquisitive angler so I made it my mission to ask around about the Cumberland River and the many things other anglers can tell me about it. Mind you, these tips aren’t from personal experience but the facts I got are pretty helpful and impressive. They are as follows:
- Most of your catch in this area will be rainbow and brown trout because of the cold water in the area. This means that you should read-up on your rainbow and brown trout.
- The river shares its resources with many other living creatures that are thriving in this area. What does this mean for you? Well, nothing but for trout fish it means a lot! They have an abundant food source. Caddis, mayflies and stoneflies also live in this area. This equals to a lot of fat trout and loads of fat trout equals to a lot of happy anglers.
- Because the area is a record holder for heavy trout, you can probably get your big trout here.
- The trout in this river ranges from 14 inches to about 26 inches. There are even striped bass that get awfully big as well.
- Trout in this area are used to seeing many anglers so they may be unresponsive to the bait you use and other fishing tactics at times. These fish are unbelievably sly and clever. This makes your fishing experience a tough one. Just be patient my friend for you to will get your catch if you wait.
- One of the best ways to fish in this area is to go dry fly fishing. You can also use scrub worms that can be found in the area.
- If you happen to stay out late, there are state parks nearby that offer dining and lodging.
Cumberland River trout fishing, in my opinion, will be quite a fishing experience. Make it a memorable one by keeping in mind the tips in this post.
